As a real
estate professional who cuts no corners when being trusted by a client to sell
their home, there is a growing trend that has become one of my largest pet
peeves: Sub-quality, non-professional photos. Of course, there are several
factors that come in to play when marketing and selling a home, but first,
people need to come through the front doors. How does this happen? Quality
photos that online shoppers are impressed with. Why cater to online shoppers?
Well, according to the National Association of Realtors, over 85% of home
buyers begin their search online.
When I
see a home for sale on the MLS and the listing is accompanied with photos that
appear to be taken with a 2007 flip-style phone, I can’t help but wonder if the
real estate agent has even showed the listing to the homeowners. Sure, quality
photos cost some up-front money to be paid for by the real estate agent, but
isn’t it worth it? Wouldn’t you rather work with a real estate agent who puts some
skin in the game by purchasing professional marketing materials? ie: quality
pictures of your home.
Here is a
very simple example of what a professional photographer can do compared to an amateur
taking a picture:
Amateur Picture:

Professional Picture:

How many
times have you seen those amateur pictures on a home that had a promising
description? Did you give it as much thought as you did a home with better
pictures? Of course you didn’t. Now, Imagine the professional touch on 20 or 30
pictures throughout the entire home. It really does make a difference.
Don’t be
a victim of flip phone pictures. If your agent is cutting corners before the
home is even on the MLS, they’re probably cutting corners when it comes to
getting the home sold.
Let’s
talk about my comprehensive marketing plan that will bring quality buyers
through your front doors.
