My Agent Put My Home On the MLS, But The Pictures Don’t Do It Justice

We have all seen it. You are online looking for your next home, the square footage and number of bedrooms seem to be exactly what you are looking for but the pictures are so bad you can’t tell if the home is worth your valuable time to go and see it in person. So you move on to the next home for sale.

What if your home was for sale and it was the one with bad pictures that couldn’t attract as many showings as it should? What if your home is for sale now, have you seen the pictures your agent put online? Let me explain why this is important: According to the National Association of Realtors, 92% of home buyers begin their search online! I can only speak from my own experience, but once I began using a professional photographer to capture the uniqueness of each home that I was fortunate enough to be chosen to sell, we had a dramatic increase in traffic through the front doors. This meant, for my clients selling their home, that the home sold quicker and usually had multiple offers!

Real estate professionals are good at things pertaining to real estate, usually, they are not professional photographers. Why would a real estate agent not rely on the expertise of a trained photographer to use the best equipment in order to capture the beauty of a home? When an agent uses their cell phone to take pictures that only capture a small corner of a room or cast shadows on stunning granite counter tops, they are basically saying that they are content with mediocrity and not concerned with delivering the most value for their clients. In my opinion, it does not matter if your home is going on the market at $120,000 or $1,200,000; the agent’s responsibility is to attract as many prospective buyers as possible, and that is done by using a professional real estate photographer.

Whether you are considering putting your home on the market with a true real estate professional or selling it yourself, I am always willing to give free advice.
